How do tokenized real estate projects connect blockchain records with land registries?

Last updated: 2025-12-02

Today, most countries still use traditional land registries for official ownership. A token project must make sure the blockchain record and the land register say the same thing.

Usually, the land registry shows that an SPV or fund owns the property. The tokens represent rights in that SPV, not a direct change in the land register. Some models go further and link blockchain events to notarized updates in the registry. If the two records ever disagree, the government registry normally wins, so legal design here is critical.
